Dunes

My Memorial day weekend consisted of tagging along on one mans adventurous journey to the great state of Michigan where the beautiful Warren Dunes awaited us. It had been years since I've been there but they were just as pretty as I remembered.

Cold Freezing Unbearable Lake Michigan Water. Sand. Sun. Hiking. Camping. S'mores.
Loads of fun.
Charlie Ray man- wild as a Taliban (song) tagged along on trip.
He had never experienced this lifestyle until now but he loved every darn toot'n second of it to say the least. Although he was a little hesitant of the waves that crashed onto the shore, he took several swims for himself in order to retrieve his football (which he stole from his mom and friend and flattened into a pancake). But I'm proud of my little guy- his momma couldn't even make it all the way into that water.
Camping? Well.. I thought I had it licked. I grew up camping. I knew the ins and outs to it, dontchyaknow.
Pshhhh.... forgot how much of a sissy I've become in the past few years. Found out several things about myself:
1. I am a major germaphobe.
2. I hate bugs.
3. I like my shower at home.
The list could go on, but I don't want to sound like I ain't tough ya'll... because I am.
I went without make up or hair products the entire time! If you don't consider that roughing it... you must not be a true female.
However... I will say that today when I finally did shower and actually took time doing my hair...it was kick ass. Must be good for it to go natural for a few days.
:)
All was going well until the sudden urge of sickness came on while eating dinner one night.
I tried to be polite about it but vomiting can never be polite and always comes at the most inopportune times. Bleh. Glad it got itself out of my system and I was back to killing bug-a-roos and roasting shamore s'mores in no time.

Would I do it again you ask? Yes! Although I was a little out of my element, I enjoyed the stretch and  witnessing some of God's most beautiful artwork.

I'm looking forward to my girls Nashville Trip in just a few days. Complete with plenty of lipstick, hair products, and air conditioning!
Stay tuned for the adventures of the Four Nashateers.
Dun Dun Dun...

Hello. Did you forget about me? I almost did!
How about this little guy? Anyone miss him?
I sort of feel like I'm visiting a long lost friend right now hanging out on my blog. The best part about this is that it's still all mine and I can pick up right where I left off and the world still spins and the birds still chirp... (at least in my neck of the woods).

So here I am! Thursday Eve. This is what I have been working on all evening {editing pics for a client}. It totally makes it that much better with a little vino involved.

I hope people know that I still exist and are still interested in my posts!
 What I've been up to:
1. Putting pieces of this crazy life back together in a more beautiful/ unique way than I ever thought possible.
2. Turned a year older and ten years wiser.
3. Took a well needed tropical vacation for myself.
4. Planned another trip to Country Central- Nasvhille, TN- Yeehaw!
5. Placed my heart somewhere special.

Happy to be back where my heart feels right.
I shot this short clip where I vacationed. Reminds me of the peace that comes with letting a heavy heart go. As if the ocean is a place to take our hurts and drag them out to sea. Never to be seen or heard of again. Something beautiful in that.
